On January 8, 2008, Lee County Commissioner Bob Janes appointed CEPD Commissioner Mike Mullins as Captiva's alternate to the Lee County Coastal Advisory Council (CAC).  The CAC was created by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) in 1995.  The purpose of the CAC is to advise the BOCC, staff & various advisory boards when proceeding with a project affecting beach & shore preservation about the proper role the BOCC should play in conserving the beaches of Lee County.
